The journey of weaning

Begin

6th of Sept mark the six months for this little birdie. Now she can start to take her solid food as in puree. The first time she tasted something different from her milk was dates, when she was 5.5months. That satisfying look she gave me showed that she wants more. with that, my dilemma as a mother begin. I vague. not sure weather I have to start to give her solid food or not. As she showed the sign that she can eat. She can holds her head up, sit up without me holding her and mostly she salivates.

Then I went down to social media ask around about this. And they helped me.I decided to wait till she's 6.

In the meantime. I keep on giving her dates, as dates are good, rich with vitamins.

Now she's 6. I have a lot of things in my mind, what I wanna feed her. As far as Im concern same old menu sure will lose her appetite. Therefore, Im preparing few things so she'll enjoy her meal.

But first I bought Bebea babycook, that is way faster and easy for me to cook meal for my daughter. It consume time, space, and I dont have to use extra tools to cook her menu. All I need is just my one and only expensive babycook.

First meal I steamed rice, with carrots and dates then I blended the whole thing together. And she loved it

The next day, I planned to give her fruits, so that it'll be easier for her to poo. I mixed avocado and banana.

And back again with rice, carrots and dates for few days.

This week I plan to give her steam rice, mix vege, broccoli with pear. I put a bit of pear so that it give the sweetness taste.. At this stage I still avoid honey, sugar, and salt as her kidney is not ready yet.

F0UR and 5IVE

Love

I cant believe how time flies so fast that I cant even catch up how fast you grow. How I wish I have time machine so I could easily stop the time and rewind it back to day I first met you. Even though you are with me every single time, still I feel like its just yesterday Im in the labour room holding your tiny finger. argh those time that I miss.

Now you are five months you start to raise your head steadily and learn to sit up without me holding you.You happily holding both of your feet when you are lying down, and squeak, coos in every conversation that we've made. Now that you know your name, you turn at me while I called your name. Butterflies in my stomach when you first wake up in the morning and saw me throughly giving me your smile and that's just aawwww. How I love you so much that Im just so happy although you are trying to throw all your tantrums to me.

Mummy loves you sweet little girl.

Happy 5th.

Sigh

How I really wish you can stop growing.

World Breastfeeding Week

First timer of being breastfeeding mom is the hardest due to the lack of knowledge. I read a lot. Find the source of breastfeeding, learn, absorb and apply. I read about breast milk, and there's a lot more better than formula milk. That's pretty much of it.

However. Medina and I are good team. We understand each other's well.

Alhamdulillah Im so lucky to have a doctor as my best friend. She taught a lot about breastfeeding, and give tips how to breastfeed the right way

I feed her alternately one hour in the first month. I listen to the 'neh' sounds that she made, then I knew it was about time to feed her. Practise make perfect, at times we become pro in this.

I love when the times come because its the bonding between me and Medina, only the two of us in wee hour time and at quiet place.

I dont have problem in feeding her at public place, as now there's a lot nursing room in shopping mall and nursing cover being sell widely for breastfeeding mom. So there'll be no problem at all. But most of the I would feed Medina in the car, because that's the most comfortable place.

I still remember the first time my husband and I find nursing room in the shopping mall, we thought we already found the comfortable place until we found the most comfortable nursing room, in Parkson KLCC. Quiet and serene.

Now  I can differentiate between baby with breast milk and baby between formula milk. Medina even become a Michelline. Haha.
